POSITION
General Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The General Manager leads all operations and service teams in their respective regions. They are responsible for ensuring all daily operational tasks and communications are fully executed with care and quality in a timely, efficient, economic, and well-planned manner. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this position directly manages the regional warehouse associates and route sales representatives, focused on the efficiency, accuracy, and completion of day-to-day tasks, ongoing operations, special initiatives, facility upkeep, and general management of all assigned responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead operations of the region to achieve assigned cost and performance goals, including delivery of outstanding service to stores. Develop recommendations and strategy to continually improve service and cost performance. Communicate, track, and resolve operational procedural issues. Develop and enforce new policies, procedures, and productivity standards as needed. Report and respond to any unsafe and unclean work environments and violations. Acts as the functional leader of the building ensuring the facility remains clean, operational, and safe. Work to reduce loss prevention and improve inventory accuracy. Drive communication daily across routing and warehouse channels to ensure effective execution of all routes and cross docks. Achieve expense objectives within the assigned area. Post employee weekly schedules, approve timesheets, and review and approve vacation requests. Conduct final interviews and assist HR with final hiring decisions. Conduct regular quality assurance checks on all Route Sales Representatives to ensure that Whisha is providing a high level of service and that RSR's are successfully executing their job requirements. Orient, train, coach, counsel, and discipline respective employees Plan, monitor, and appraise performance results and administer disciplinary action if necessary. Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation and collaboration with all applicable departments. (Routing, Service, Business Development, Warehouse, HR). Educate and direct employees to follow and maintain established company, federal, state and local policies and procedures in compliance with company safety practices and OSHA. Develop a culture within the facility that fosters associate engagement and continuous improvement. Hire and terminate employees, based on assigned staffing budget.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES 4
Year Degree from an accredited university Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong managerial coaching and development skills Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively. Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with technology and capable of learning new skills quickly. Overnight travel occasionally requested.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have a working vehicle and be able to travel independently. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. independently. May require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be willing able to assist the warehouse supervisor with order picking and inventory control. Must be willing to work in the field as needed training RSR's and even covering routes.
