Job Description

The successful candidate sets the standard for hospitality, develops staff, maintains service consistency, controls labor costs, supports beverage inventory, and works closely with the Executive Chef and General Manager to create a welcoming and efficient dining experience.

This position is expected to lead by example not manage from the sidelines.

Essential ResponsibilitiesMember ExperienceDeliver consistently outstanding service to members and guests.

Learn member names, preferences, and dining habits.

Resolve member concerns professionally before they escalate.

Ensure dining rooms, patio, lounge, banquet spaces, and pool service meet club standards.

Maintain a calm, positive atmosphere during busy periods.

LeadershipSupervise, coach, and develop all front-of-house employees.

Train new servers, bartenders, and support staff.

Conduct pre-shift meetings.

Assign daily side work.

Monitor appearance, punctuality, and professionalism.

Hold staff accountable to service standards.

Recommend hiring, discipline, and recognition to the General Manager.

Labor ManagementBuild weekly FOH schedules.

Adjust staffing based on business volume.

Manage clock-ins, breaks, and overtime.

Monitor labor cost throughout each shift.

Cross-train employees to improve flexibility.

Beverage OperationsMaintain liquor, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic inventories.

Complete weekly inventory counts.

Help control pour costs and shrinkage.

Coordinate ordering with approved vendors.

Maintain clean, organized storage areas.

Ensure compliance with Washington liquor laws.

Service StandardsEnsure tables are properly set.

Inspect dining rooms before each service.

Maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.

Monitor food timing and communication with the kitchen.

Ensure checks are accurate.

Assist during member events and tournaments.

Banquets & Club EventsCoordinate FOH staffing for events.

Lead event setup and breakdown.

Communicate banquet timelines with the kitchen.

Ensure event service meets member expectations.

Assist with wine dinners, golf tournaments, holiday events, and club functions.

Administrative DutiesComplete opening and closing checklists.

Maintain FOH SOPs.

Assist with menu rollouts.

Track service issues and member feedback.

Participate in weekly leadership meetings.

Assist the General Manager with operational projects.

Qualifications3+ years restaurant or private club experience.

Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Strong hospitality mindset.

Excellent communication skills.

Comfortable coaching employees.

Knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits.

Washington MAST Permit.

Food Worker Card.

Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Ability to stand for extended periods.
