Caf ManagerBlue Ridge Coffee House | Seattle, WAFull-Time | $30.00/hour | Non-Tipping WorkplaceAbout UsBlue Ridge Coffee House is a neighborhood coffee shop located in Seattle's Blue Ridge neighborhood. We are passionate about exceptional coffee, genuine hospitality, and creating a welcoming gathering place for our community.

We're looking for a Caf Manager who can lead our team, oversee daily operations, and help ensure the caf runs smoothly, efficiently, and consistently every day.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys both working alongside a team and managing the operational details that keep a coffee shop successful.

Position SummaryThe Caf Manager supports the day-to-day operation of Blue Ridge Coffee House by ensuring the shop is organized, stocked, staffed, and operating smoothly.

The Caf Manager serves as the primary leadership resource for employees and works closely with ownership to support the team, maintain operational standards, manage inventory and ordering, oversee scheduling, and create an exceptional customer experience.

This is a working manager position. While leadership and administrative responsibilities are a significant part of the role, the Caf Manager is expected to regularly work on the floor alongside the team.

Leadership & Team SupportThe Caf Manager will:

Serve as the primary leadership resource for employees.

Maintain reasonable availability to address operational questions, staffing concerns, and urgent issues when not physically in the shop.

Respond to employee and ownership communications within agreed-upon timeframes.

Proactively communicate operational concerns, staffing challenges, and employee issues before they become larger problems.

Take ownership of problems and help facilitate solutions.

Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new employees.

Coach and develop team members through ongoing feedback and support.

Help maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented workplace culture.

Lead by example in hospitality, accountability, and work ethic.

Ensure leadership coverage is in place during vacations or planned absences.

Operations ManagementThe Caf Manager will:

Lead and direct daily caf operations.

Ensure all opening, service, and closing procedures are completed consistently.

Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation throughout the caf .Ensure all county and state health, safety, and food handling requirements are met.

Monitor equipment performance and coordinate maintenance and repairs as needed.

Maintain operational systems, procedures, and documentation.

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and guest experience.

Scheduling & StaffingThe Caf Manager will:

Create and maintain employee schedules.

Manage labor hours responsibly while ensuring operational needs are met.

Coordinate time-off requests, shift coverage, and schedule adjustments.

Ensure required meal and rest breaks are provided.

Communicate schedule updates and staffing needs clearly and promptly.

Inventory & OrderingThe Caf Manager will:

Place and manage inventory orders for coffee, milk, food, retail items, packaging, and supplies.

Maintain relationships and communication with vendors and suppliers.

Monitor inventory levels and proactively forecast ordering needs.

Conduct regular inventory counts and reporting.

Ensure products are properly received, rotated, stocked, and organized.

Minimize waste through proper inventory management and forecasting.

Maintain retail displays and merchandise presentation.

Ensure the caf remains fully stocked and operational at all times.

Guest ExperienceThe Caf Manager will:

Create an exceptional experience for every guest.

Build relationships with regular customers and neighborhood guests.

Address customer concerns professionally and effectively.

Ensure customer service standards are consistently maintained by all team members.

Foster a welcoming environment that reflects the values of Blue Ridge Coffee House.

Coffee & Beverage QualityThe Caf Manager will:

Ensure beverages are prepared to company standards.

Train and coach staff on beverage quality, workflow, and consistency.

Maintain strong knowledge of coffee preparation and caf operations.

Assist with troubleshooting brewing equipment and operational issues.

Support ongoing education and development of the caf team.

QualificationsRequiredPrevious management or leadership experience in a coffee shop, caf , restaurant, or similar food service environment.

Experience creating employee schedules and managing staffing needs.

Experience ordering inventory and managing vendor relationships.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees.

Reliable, dependable, and solution-oriented.

Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

PreferredSpecialty coffee experience.

Experience training and onboarding employees.

Knowledge of coffee extraction, brewing methods, and beverage quality standards.

Experience with Square POS and scheduling systems.

Basic equipment troubleshooting and maintenance knowledge.

Passion for hospitality, coffee, and community-focused service.
