Designated Administrator SUMMARY:
Works under the supervision of a designated administrator to provide meal services to students and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise the activities of the food service staff, and assist in the hiring, evaluating, training and scheduling of staff members. Prepare meals in accordance with federal and state guidelines. Plan menus based on state and federal established guidelines and prepare them accordingly. Order food and supplies. Maintain appropriate inventory levels. Coordinate and participate in the daily production and service of providing food service to students and staff. Maintain kitchen environment within acceptable sanitation regulations. Maintain food service equipment; initiate repairs. Complete accurate reports and inventories; maintain a record keeping system. Follow district procedures for handling cash. Establish and maintain communications with site administrator, parents, staff and students. Serve as a resource to teachers on planning lessons on nutrition, food or meal planning. Operate within the established food service budget. Maintain confidentiality of student free and reduced meal approvals. Demonstrate satisfactory work habits and attitudes. Follow district policies and procedures as adopted by the Governing Board. Perform other related duties as assigned by the designated administrator.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School Diploma Three years experience in quality food preparation Working knowledge of child nutrition
SCOPE AND SALARY
215 day position as an at-will hourly employee based on the support staff salary schedule, with holidays and benefits according to district policy.
