Full Job Description Overview:
We are seeking a Director of Dining Services to oversee and manage all aspects of food service for our Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Long-Term Care residents. This leadership role is crucial in ensuring residents enjoy nutritious, delicious meals that meet their dietary preferences and health needs while maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and service. At Fellowship Square Christian Care, we are dedicated to providing our residents with a high-quality dining experience that enhances their overall well-being.
Responsibilities:
Oversee Dining Services:
Manage all food service operations, including meal preparation and dining room service for residents with special dietary needs.
Menu Planning:
Work with nutritionists and the kitchen team to create menus that meet residents' dietary preferences and health requirements.
Supervise Staff:
Hire, train, and supervise food service staff, ensuring quality service and safety standards.
Ensure Compliance:
Ensure food service operations follow all health and safety regulations.
Manage Budget:
Control food costs and manage the food service budget while maintaining quality.
Resident Satisfaction:
Interact with residents and families to ensure dining experiences meet expectations and address concerns.
Inventory Management:
Oversee food and supply inventory to ensure stock levels are maintained and waste is minimized. Collaborate with
Teams:
Work with nursing and activities staff to incorporate dietary needs into resident care plans.
Maintain Facility:
Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean, safe, and organized.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Food Service Management, Nutrition, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Must be a Certified Food Service Manager recognized by the State of Arizona (i.e. ServSafe, National Restaurant Association certification) 5+ years of experience in food service management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role in a healthcare, senior living, or long-term care setting. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and dietary requirements for senior populations. Proven ability to manage budgets and control food costs while maintaining high standards of service. Leadership skills with experience in managing, training, and motivating a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, staff, and vendors. Ability to develop and implement menu planning that accommodates dietary restrictions, food allergies, and resident preferences. Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a focus on improving the quality of life for senior residents. Experience with inventory management and ensuring the kitchen runs efficiently.
