Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Director of Dining Services to oversee all aspects of food service operations within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in dietary management, healthcare nutrition, and leadership within assisted living or similar settings. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for enhancing resident and patient experiences through nutritious, well-prepared meals and exceptional service. As the Director of Dining Services, you will lead a team dedicated to delivering high-quality dining experiences while ensuring compliance with health regulations and budgetary goals. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive dining programs that prioritize nutrition, safety, and resident satisfaction. Supervise and mentor dining staff, including cooks, servers, and dietary aides, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Oversee menu planning and meal preparation, ensuring alignment with dietary guidelines, care plans, and individual health needs such as tube feeding or specialized diets. Manage the dietary department's budget, including purchasing, inventory control, and cost management to optimize resources efficiently. Conduct regular patient assessments to tailor meal plans that support health goals and accommodate dietary restrictions. Collaborate with healthcare teams to evaluate diagnostic results related to nutrition and physiology to inform care strategies. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards while maintaining documentation for regulatory audits. Lead initiatives in health coaching to promote wellness and proper nutrition among residents or patients. Qualifications Proven management experience within dietary services, assisted living facilities, or healthcare environments. Strong knowledge of nutrition sciences, physiology, dietetics, and care planning processes. Experience with patient assessment techniques related to nutritional needs and medical conditions such as tube feeding or diagnostic evaluation. Supervising experience in a dietary or food service department is essential. Familiarity with budgeting practices specific to healthcare or assisted living settings. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster professional development. Knowledge of health coaching principles to support residents' overall wellness strategies. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and compliance procedures.
