Full Job Description:
Shift Lead Elevate your brew and Join our team at torotea, a tea shop dedicated to bringing our unique selection of handcrafted drinks with top notch service to our community! We're on the lookout for passionate and enthusiastic Shift Leads to help create memorable experiences for our guests and team members. A Shift Lead's responsibilities include but are not limited to the careful crafting of our beverages, preparation of ingredients, providing great guest service, directing production and flow, ensuring compliance with safety and food safety rules, and solid communication skills to work cohesively with our team. It is imperative that a Shift Lead not only exemplify these skills but also coach their team to achieve as well.
Responsibilities:
Engage with guests in a professional and welcoming manner, every time. Communicate and work effectively within a team environment, setting the tone. Follow direction as given from senior management/ownership Communicate with senior management on any feedback, recommendations, or concerns from yourself or the wider team. Ensuring team members comply with break and other regulatory requirements. Perform opening and closing duties as outlined and required. Follow relevant food and safety guidelines. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds. Follow any and all safety procedures and policies. Open and close the store in accordance with store procedures and schedules. Proactively ensure yourself and the team are taking breaks as required by State Law and company policy. Report any issues with time sheets. Create beverages focusing on Quality, Consistency, Cleanliness, and Speed. Follow recipes to prepare various ingredients and toppings and ensure QC. Utilize the POS system and provide accurate inputs every single time. Integrity in POS operations. Engage with guests in a professional and welcoming manner in all interactions. Actively seek to resolve and guest issues or concerns. Communicate and work effectively within a team environment. Ask questions and provide feedback in a timely manner. Seek active clarity and understanding in any conflict, avoid gossip, ask for assistance from senior management to resolve interpersonal conflicts you are unable to resolve yourself. Follow direction as given from management/ownership Maintain a clean and tidy work environment focused on details, for yourself and the team. Actively lead in training new and returning team members. Report any facilities issues to senior management for resolution. Adopt new procedures and tools introduced to the business and help the team understand these changes.
Qualifications:
Previous barista experience is NOT required, but preferred. Prior retail or food service experience preferred. Previous leadership experience preferred. Have a passion for tea, specialty beverages, guest service, and a strong desire to learn. Understanding that feedback and critiques are critical to improvement for all roles. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Able to maintain a positive and professional attitude under stress. Ability to implement directives and feedback in a quick and efficient manner. Certifications Food Handler Certification Completion of State mandated Mangers Sexual Harassment Training Weekly day range: Monday to Friday, Weekends Mornings Afternoons Evenings Shift duration: 6 hours, 8 hours Job type: Full Time Work location: In person
