Weekday Shifts with Ability to Work Sundays Position Summary and Purpose:
We are seeking a part-time Shift Lead for 28-32 hours a week, closing availability (8:30am-4:30pm), and ability to consistently work on Sundays. The ideal applicant will be:
Friendly, approachable, kind, competent, and a self-starter Able to work well within a small team, but also individually at times have 1-2 year of specialty coffee experience, and a willingness to constantly build upon their knowledge independently as well as through questions/observations at wor Possesses a "yes, and" mentality when approaching conversations with customers and coworkers. Able to work well within a small team, have 1-2 year of specialty coffee experience (Required) possess a food handler's card or be able to acquire one within 7 days of being hired, Calm under pressure Have 1 year minimum of leadership experience (Required) Duties and Responsibilities:
Cash handling at point of sale Food prep of pastries from our local vendor, Crema Food prep of our in-house sandwich and bagel offerings Assembling and crafting of espresso and non-espresso beverages to Goodfellow's Coffee standards Working within a small team to provide excellent customer service, craft delicious drinks and food, and learn each day Providing customer service centered around being welcoming and willing to provide a memorable visit Cleaning of customer areas and staff areas Adhering to set forth policies on employee conduct, presentation, hygiene Completing assigned side work encompassing shop level cleanliness and preparation of in-house syrups and sauces Job Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
California Food Handler's Card Basic Mathematical Skills Basic Reading and Writing Skills Excellent and Effective Communication Skills Multi-Tasking Understanding of how to operate grinders and espresso machines Understanding of the basics of extraction as it relates to grind size, tasting of coffee/espresso, and meeting set standards Cash handling at point of sale Food prep and assembly Adherence to all drink and food standards Assembling and crafting of espresso and non-espresso beverages to Goodfellow's Coffee standards Working as a proactive team member with fellow baristas, shift leads, and management. Providing customer service centered around being welcoming and willing to provide a memorable visit; Embodying patience, level-headedness, and the ability to be thorough, friendly, and accurate. Cleaning; Performing a myriad of surface and deep cleaning tasks on a daily and weekly basis to ensure a cleanly environment as designated by daily checklists, assigned tasks, and shift lead/manager instruction. Adhering to set forth policies on employee conduct, attendance, hygiene, dress code, discount use, phone use, etc. Current and future as communicated by management or ownership. Completing prep work for all shop syrups, sauces, food items. Operating coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, and brewers Restocking supplies, such as cups, lids, coffee beans, syrups, food items performing opening and closing duties, including set up, cleaning, stocking and inventory Overseeing adherence to labor laws regarding scheduled breaks Working in collaboration with management and ownership to ensure shop needs Required Qualifications:
1-2 Year of Specialty Coffee Experience 1 Year of Management/Leadership Experience Must be 18 years or older Willingness to work mornings and afternoons, and regular weekend shifts 6 month commitment to maintaining current availability Benefits:
