Butter Pecan Bakeshop is a fast-growing bakeshop with locations throughout the Bay Area. We specialize in freshly baked cookies available for local pick-up, delivery, and nationwide shipping. Salary:
$20.00 per hour, plus tipsSummary/Objective :
As Shift Lead, you are responsible for guiding the team through smooth daily operations by ensuring procedures are followed, cookies are baked to perfection, customer service is exceptional, and the store remains clean, organized, and guest-ready at all times.Essential Functions :
1. Manage and oversee shift operations while on duty, inclusive of effectively planning, organizing, and implementing all daily operational routines and activities 2. Collaborate with the Owner(s) and Manager(s) for effective staffing and scheduling, and ensure all activities are consistent with and supportive of business plans and goals 3. Supervise, train and ensure all Crew Members are performing job duties and meeting expectations during shift; assign duties to specific employees based on role and skills, and ensure compliance with company and safety policies 4. Provide direction/supervision/feedback to Crew Members during shift to maintain high levels of productivity and positive team morale 5. Communicate Crew Member work performance to the management team and appropriately address. Role model and set a positive example for the entire team in all aspects of business and personnel practices 6. Perform QA checks to correct areas of opportunity in operational efficiency, waste reduction, baking, dough making, and customer service 7. Greet customers, deliver and model exceptional customer service, fulfill orders with precision, and serve customers with a consistently positive and helpful attitude, including answering questions, providing menu guidance and recommendations. 8. Ensure Crew Members work together effectively, collaboratively, and efficiently 9. Follow baking instructions, safety procedures, uniform compliance, and sanitary requirements 10. Use specific kitchen machinery/equipment such as ovens, refrigerators, freezers, etc. safely 11. Ensure cleanliness is conducted daily by delegating the cleaning of dishes, workstations, sweeping and mopping floors, washing/sanitizing/disinfecting kitchen utensils and high touch-point areas, and servicing restrooms 12. Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally and calmly to resolve problems according to bakeshop policy 13. Are performance-oriented and performance-driven; understand performance expectations and are aware of performance 14. Balance cash drawers and prepare cash deposits as assigned by management team 15. Complete all required administrative duties and daily paperwork including required checklists and inventory 16. Supervise and perform closing and/or opening activities as directed by the management team 17. Establish an environment of trust to ensure high morale, honest, open, and direct communication 18. Contribute to the bakeshop's success by accomplishing the expected work during each shift consistently 19. Handle transactions using POS systems with precision 20. Assist with dough preparation and baking, ranging from preparation to cleanup 21. Conduct regular inventory checks 22. Report and attend work punctuallyCompetency :
- Knowledge of bakery operations
- Excellent communication skills and professionalism
- Skills in customer service and using POS systems
- Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, handle pressure, and multitask
Supervisory Responsibilities :
Direct oversight of bakery staff during shiftsWork Environment :
Indoor bakery setting with varying temperatures due to ovens and refrigeration. Occasional exposure to high noise levels during peak times.Physical Demands :
This role involves extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The position also requires manual dexterity to operate kitchen tools and POS systems.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work :
Part-time Travel :
Minimal to none. Local travel may be occasionally required for training or meetings.Required Education and Experience :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a shift management role within the quick service restaurant or hospitality sector
Food Handler's Certificate Preferred Education and Experience :
- Prior experience in a bakery setting
- Familiarity with our specific POS system
Additional Eligibility Qualifications :
- Must be 18 years or older
- Reliable transportation
- Legal eligibility to work in the
