  • $26 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Customer communication Operations management Operational management Restaurant management Operations Full Job Description Position Overview We are seeking a highly responsible, hands-on, and detail-oriented Assistant Operations Manager to support daily restaurant operations across our Palo Alto and Redwood City locations.
This role requires a strong leader who is comfortable working side-by-side with the team while ensuring operational excellence, food quality, customer satisfaction, and team accountability. This is a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role. The Assistant Operations Manager will be expected to lead shifts, coach team members, maintain high standards, solve problems quickly, and support overall business performance. Key Responsibilities Support day-to-day operations at both restaurant locations. Lead shifts and ensure smooth restaurant operations during opening, peak hours, and closing. Work hands-on alongside the team in all operational areas, including: Food preparation Order assembly Cashier/customer service Cleaning and organization Catering preparation and execution Ensure recipes, portion sizes, presentation, and food quality standards are consistently followed. Monitor order accuracy and ensure all dine-in, takeout, delivery, and catering orders are completed correctly. Train, coach, and supervise team members to maintain operational standards and productivity. Hold employees accountable for punctuality, performance, food safety, cleanliness, and professionalism. Assist with labor management, shift coverage, and staffing needs when necessary. Help oversee prep levels, inventory organization, waste reduction, and operational readiness. Quickly identify operational issues and implement immediate corrective action. Handle customer concerns professionally and help maintain excellent guest experiences. Support company policies, food safety requirements, and workplace compliance standards. Leadership Expectations Lead by example and maintain a positive, professional attitude. Maintain urgency, organization, and attention to detail during high-volume periods. Provide coaching and immediate feedback to team members. Take ownership of shift performance, order quality, and operational execution. Be flexible and available to support business needs, including shift coverage when required. Qualifications Previous restaurant leadership experience required (Assistant Manager, Shift Lead, Kitchen Lead, Operations Lead, or similar). Strong multitasking and leadership skills in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable working hands-on in kitchen and front-of-house operations at all times. Strong communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage team performance and maintain accountability. Experience with food safety, restaurant systems, scheduling, or POS systems preferred. Requirements Open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must be willing and able to work at both Palo Alto and Redwood City locations. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Reliable transportation and punctuality required.
