ASAP What we do Splatter Studio LA is an immersive painting and entertainment venue in Santa Monica. We host paint splatter experiences, black light sessions, drip bears, date nights, kids' birthday parties, and corporate events. We also have a bar for adult sessions. The studio is open Wednesday through Sunday; weekends are our busiest days and that's where this role lives. What this role actually is This is a Shift Lead role — not a bartender role. You'll spend most of your time on the floor, working alongside your team: running paint demos, setting up stations, engaging with guests, taking photos, keeping sessions moving and making sure Customers are having a blast! You'll also step behind the bar when adult sessions need drinks served. On kids' birthday parties, there's typically no bar service — you're on the floor with the team the whole time. You lead by doing. You're the most experienced person on shift, and your team takes their cues from you. What you'll ownLead the floor Run a quick shift huddle at the start of every shift: who's setting up stations, who's at the door, who's on paint carts, who's on cleanup between sessions Work the floor alongside the team — paint demos, customer engagement, photo-taking, the same work as a floor artist Rotate roles between sessions so the team stays sharp, manage breaks. Step in wherever needed — your team takes their cues from how you show up Keep sessions on time, on quality, and on vibe Serve at the bar — when sessions need it During adult sessions, serve beer, wine, cocktails, and champagne Suggest drinks during the experience demo and customer check-ins Sell party drink add-ons when relevant (champagne toasts, drink packages, open bar tiers) Track liquor inventory and flag low stock to the owner On kids' birthday party shifts, the bar is closed — you're on the floor with the team Host the customer Greet every guest and walk them through the experience Answer the phone with energy — most of these calls are bookings Take walk-ins, manage Square POS, process payments Manage the FareHarbor schedule during your shift (booking system): check in customers, add notes, handle booking changes Resolve issues in the moment; escalate only what truly needs the owner Close it clean Studio must be reset and ready for the next day's team before you leave Manage your team to do their share — but the outcome is yours Send a quick end-of-shift recap to the owner (revenue, attendance, issues) You're a fit if you have Bartending experience — you're comfortable serving beer, wine, and basic cocktails when sessions need it. California Food Handler Card a plus; RBS certification a plus. Real weekend availability — Saturday and Sunday are non-negotiable. This isn't a job to take on top of another weekend commitment. Experience leading a small team (3-5 people) on a busy floor — restaurant, retail, hospitality, events all count Hospitality instincts — you like people, you read a room, you make guests feel welcome Ownership mindset — the studio is clean because you care, not because someone told you You're probably not a fit if Your weekends are already committed to another job, school, or major obligation You're looking primarily for Wednesday-Thursday hours You'd rather work alone than direct a small team You're a "bartender only" who doesn't want to be on the floor running paint demos and engaging with guests Compensation Includes hourly + tips.
