Full Time Job Summary:
The Lead Cook is to oversee the daily operations of our kitchen and lead a team of culinary professionals to deliver exceptional dining experiences. The Lead Cook will play a key role in maintaining food quality, meeting health and safety standards, and fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Leadership Train, mentor, and evaluate kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance. Maintain a positive and professional work environment. Regularly meet with owner for evaluation of staff and procedures. Menu Development Design, develop, and update menus based on seasonal ingredients and food trends. Experiment with recipes and introduce new dishes to excite and attract customers. Ensure all menu items meet high-quality and presentation standards. Food Preparation and Quality Control Oversee all food preparation to ensure consistency, taste, and adherence to recipes. Monitor portion control and minimize food waste. Ensure all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner. Inventory and Budget Management Manage inventory levels, order supplies (the ordering list will go to the kitchen lead to be placed), and ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients. Work within budget guidelines and minimize food and labor costs without compromising quality. Collaborate with suppliers to source the best quality ingredients at optimal prices. Health and Safety Compliance Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment. Ensure compliance with all food safety and health regulations. Train staff on proper food handling, equipment usage, and safety protocols. Customer Satisfaction Actively collaborate with the front-of-house team to address customer feedback and make necessary improvements. Maintain a high standard of service that exceeds customer expectations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Proven experience as a Lead Chef, Head Chef, or similar role in a high-volume kitchen. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training is preferred. Expertise in various cooking techniques, cuisines, and menu development. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Budgeting and inventory management experience is a plus.

Compensation:
This role reports to the Kitchen Lead. 40 hours per week @ $19-21/hour (dependent on experience) plus 10% of all credit card tips received. Paid Time Off. Medical insurance which TMB will pay 50% of your deductible up to $2,000 per year. Insurance plan options will be provided if you wish to accept.
