We are a community-focused bakery that values teamwork, quality, consistency, and genuine hospitality. We are seeking a Front of House Shift Lead to help lead our customer-facing operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, food service experience, and a passion for creating exceptional customer experiences. Schedule Wednesday through Sunday 7:00 AM - 3:15 PM 38.75 hours per week Occasional Tuesday coverage may be required Weekend availability is required Position Summary The Front of House Shift Lead serves as a leader for our customer service team, ensuring smooth daily operations while maintaining RISE's standards for hospitality, quality, and efficiency. This role balances hands-on customer service responsibilities with leadership, inventory management, scheduling, and operational oversight. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Operations Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming environment for guests Maintain product quality, freshness, and presentation throughout the day Support daily front-of-house operations Assist with opening and closing procedures Prepare sandwiches, espresso drinks, and other menu items according to RISE standards Handle Customer Issues Leadership & Team Development Lead and support front-of-house staff during shifts Provide guidance, coaching, and direction to team members Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment Lead staff meetings three times per year Assist with onboarding and training new team members Coordinate closely with the Bakery Supervisor and Bakery Leads to ensure smooth communication between front and back of house Administrative & Inventory Responsibilities Manage front-of-house inventory and ordering needs Complete daily cash drawer reconciliation and closing procedures Create and maintain monthly staff schedules Monitor labor and staffing needs while ensuring appropriate shift coverage Assist with operational planning and process improvements Qualifications Previous leadership experience in a bakery, café, restaurant, or similar food service environment necessary Strong customer service and communication skills Excellent organizational and time management abilities Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment Comfortable handling cash and administrative responsibilities Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds ServSafe Manager certification preferred Benefits Base rate plus guaranteed tip rate of $7.25/hour 401(k) plan Employee discount Paid sick time Paid training Shift Meal Fresh bread & pastries to take home Supportive, team-oriented work environment Work Location RISE Artisan Bread 403 5th Street Berthoud, CO 80513
