Job Description

Boulder Country Club is looking for an experienced Lead Banquet Cook . In this role, you will lead line cooks, manage prep lists, coordinate with the events team, and make sure great-looking food gets out on time. You will also provide excellent customer service to both our staff and club members. This job requires 3 to 5 years of kitchen experience, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, busy environment.
Pay:
$20-$24 per hour (depending on experience).
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Teamwork:
Lead, train, and guide kitchen staff during events. Assign tasks and keep the kitchen running smoothly.
Event Food Prep:
Oversee cooking, plating, and food presentation for banquets. Make sure the team follows recipes and event orders exactly.
Quality & Safety:
Monitor food safety (like checking temperatures and clean work areas), make sure older food is used first (FIFO), and keep the kitchen clean and organized.
Kitchen Support:
Track food inventory, report when items are running low, and help plan menus.
Event Coordination:
Work closely with the dining room staff to make sure food service runs perfectly.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
1 to 4 years of experience cooking for busy, full-service restaurants or hotel events, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
Skills:
Excellent cooking skills (like grilling, roasting, and sautéing), strong leadership, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and good communication skills.
Knowledge:
A solid understanding of food safety and health rules (a food handler's card is required).
Physical Ability:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, work in hot or cold kitchen conditions, handle wet and slippery floors, and lift or carry up to 40-50 pounds.
Flexibility:
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Education High School Diploma or GED required. A Culinary Degree or vocational training is a plus.
