THE OPPORTUNITY
You'll lead the full food service operation — the Balanced Rock Café, Kissing Camels Coffee Corner, and our Production kitchen — reporting directly to the VP of Operations. This is a senior leadership role with real autonomy: you'll set the tone for service, drive profitability, develop your managers, and make this operation better every season.
WHAT YOU'LL LEAD
Your team Coach, mentor, and develop managers and frontline staff across three venues Build a culture that's inclusive, accountable, and genuinely fun to work in Lead hiring, onboarding, and retention — you'll shape who joins this team Run engaging team meetings that keep everyone aligned and motivated Partner with HR to handle employee matters with professionalism and care Your operation Oversee day-to-day café, coffee, and production operations with a focus on quality and consistency Own labor, scheduling, and workflow — you'll know how to run lean without burning people out Manage inventory, vendor relationships, and ordering to hit cost targets Contribute to menu development and seasonal offerings that guests love Collaborate with Events & Marketing on catering, promotions, and special events Ensure full compliance with food safety standards and health department regulations Your guest experience Champion a service culture where every guest interaction matters Be a visible, engaged presence on the floor — guests and staff will look to you Step in to resolve escalated concerns quickly and with grace Ensure every guest-facing space is always clean, stocked, and welcoming
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary:
$55,000-$65,000, plus a bonus plan
Benefits:
Paid medical insurance, PTO days, and HFWA sick leave; vision, dental, and supplemental plans available at the cost to the employee. Our busiest season runs May through October — it's fast, exciting, and rewarding. Schedules include weekends year-round.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You'll be a great fit if you have… 3-5+ years of restaurant or food service management experience A track record of developing people — your former employees talk about you as someone who made them better Experience leading multiple departments or locations at once ServSafe Manager Certification (or the ability to get it quickly) Confidence handling tough conversations: performance issues, policy violations, corrective action Strong communication skills — you're as clear with a team of 20 as you are in a one-on-one Solid POS knowledge; Lightspeed Restaurant experience is a bonus Comfort with the numbers: food cost, labor cost, scheduling, inventory Bonus points for… Barista or specialty coffee experience — Starbucks background is a strong plus Bilingual in Spanish Experience with events or catering coordination
ABOUT THE SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, seven-day operation. You'll work a mix of days, evenings, and weekends — with the heaviest lift during our peak summer season. We plan schedules thoughtfully, value your time off, and believe great leaders need to be rested to lead well.
