Shift LeaderPosition Summary The Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing daily store operations during their assigned shift, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient workflow, and adherence to company standards. This role serves as a leader and resource for team members, helping maintain a productive, organized, and positive work environment while supporting management in achieving operational goals. Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management Lead and direct team members throughout each shift. Assign duties based on employee roles, skills, and business needs. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to employees. Train new team members and reinforce company standards with current staff. Address employee concerns and assist in resolving workplace conflicts. Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and strong work ethic. Be available to assist with coverage for dropped shifts when possible. Store Operations Open and close the store following company procedures. Act as a backup to the Store Manager when needed. Conduct inventory counts and assist with inventory management. Balance cash drawers and prepare cash deposits accurately. Complete a thorough end-of-shift walkthrough to ensure cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness. Shift Management "Quarterback" each shift by monitoring workflow, customer volume, and operational efficiency. Identify bottlenecks and proactively solve problems before they impact service. Ensure adequate staffing coverage and proper task delegation throughout the shift. Monitor and maintain smooth communication between front-of-house and kitchen staff. Customer Service Ensure every customer receives prompt, friendly, and efficient service. Monitor guests waiting to be served and assist when needed. Handle customer concerns, complaints, and service recovery situations professionally. Promote a positive customer experience and uphold company hospitality standards. Kitchen & Order Management Oversee kitchen operations to ensure food quality, accuracy, and efficiency. Assist with food preparation and order production as needed. Ensure orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Verify delivery orders are prepared, packaged, and dispatched correctly. Compliance & Standards Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures. Maintain health, safety, sanitation, and food handling standards. Monitor employee adherence to dress code, attendance, and operational expectations. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times. Qualifications Previous restaurant, café, or retail leadership experience preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment. Dependable, organized, and self-motivated. Ability to handle cash responsibly and accurately. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Success in This Role A successful Shift Leader takes ownership of their shift, supports their team, maintains operational standards, and ensures customers leave with a positive experience. They anticipate problems before they occur, lead by example, and help create a culture of accountability, efficiency, and exceptional service.
