From $65,000.00 per year Job description: Food Service Director Full‑time Senior Living Community Competitive Pay A reputable senior living community is seeking a dedicated Food Service Director to oversee our dietary department. We are looking for a strong leader who is passionate about serving seniors and creating a positive dining experience for residents. Job Summary The Food Service Director is responsible for managing all aspects of food service operations, including meal planning, kitchen oversight, staff leadership, compliance, budgeting, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. This role also includes hands‑on cooking responsibilities three (3) times per week . Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and supervise the preparation and service of daily meals. Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. Hire, train, schedule, and manage dietary staff. Maintain inventory, place food and supply orders, and manage vendor relationships. Work closely with nursing and care teams to support special diets and modified textures. Monitor and manage the department budget while maintaining quality. Conduct regular kitchen inspections and staff performance evaluations. Promote a positive, respectful, and team‑focused work environment. Cook as part of the rotation three times weekly. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary or hospitality degree preferred. Previous food service management experience, ideally in senior living, healthcare, or similar settings. ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Strong leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of senior dietary needs and therapeutic diets. Compassionate, resident‑centered approach to service. Why Join Us?
