CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Kitchen Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, and inspire BOH Team Members to perform at their highest level during every shift Model servant leadership — working alongside your team, setting the standard through action, and providing real-time feedback that builds skills and confidence Prepare shift setups in advance, ensuring stations are properly staffed and sequenced to maximize Team Member skill sets and operational flow Coordinate and manage callouts, coverage gaps, and real-time labor adjustments to maintain service standards Communicate Team Member performance, recognition, and policy/procedure concerns to management in a timely, accurate manner Maintain a positive, respectful team environment in which every Team Member feels valued and supported Food Safety & Quality Standards Serve as the guardian of food safety — ensuring all SAFE Daily procedures, food handling protocols, and regulatory requirements are upheld without exception during every shift Monitor food quality and presentation throughout the shift to ensure all products meet Chick-fil-A's high standards before reaching guests Ensure all Team Members follow approved procedures, read boards accurately, and execute food prep and cooking procedures correctly Conduct and document all required food safety checks, temperature logs, and safety walk procedures per shift Report any food safety concerns, equipment issues, or maintenance needs to management promptly and accurately Kitchen Operations & Execution Oversee all BOH operations — including fry station, breading, assembly, boards, and food prep — ensuring each station is properly staffed, stocked, and running efficiently Open, transition, and close the kitchen, prep areas, inventory storage, holding areas, backroom, and campus following all established procedures Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards across all BOH areas at all times Monitor and manage food inventory and waste to meet company standards and control food costs Support the timely, food-safe production and packaging of all catering orders Adjust production pace and team positioning in real time to meet speed-of-service targets during peak and non-peak day parts Cross-Functional Leadership Support Collaborate with FOH Shift Leaders and fellow leaders to ensure seamless handoffs, balanced coverage, and a unified Guest and Team Member experience Proactively identify and resolve kitchen bottlenecks before they impact Guest experience Support and participate in restaurant-wide initiatives, training rollouts, and operational improvement projects Adhere strictly to all Chick-fil-A policies, procedures, and brand standards
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Required Must be 18 years of age or older Minimum 1 year of kitchen, food service, or BOH experience in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable with professionalism and care Strong working knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and hygiene requirements Ability to work effectively under pressure, multi-task across competing priorities, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment Reliable and consistent attendance — this is a leadership role that the team depends on Availability to work a minimum of 3-5 shifts per week, including nights and weekends Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot kitchen environment Preferred ServSafe Food Handler or Food Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain) Previous shift leadership or supervisory experience in a restaurant setting Experience with Chick-fil-A kitchen operations, procedures, and production systems Familiarity with inventory management, food cost controls, and BOH labor scheduling
