As a Deli Lead, Back of the House, at the Co-op, you'll guide back-of-house operations—training staff, maintaining food safety, and ensuring consistent, high-quality production. You'll lead by example, support your crew, and help make every shift efficient, safe, and fun. What You'll Do Train and coach staff on kitchen procedures, recipes, and safety practices. Plan for sales and schedule labor to meet daily production needs. Reduce waste through accurate inventory, proper rotation, and shrink reporting. Order products, ensuring deliveries are accurate and stored properly. Monitor food safety and sanitation standards for full compliance. Communicate daily with the team through meetings, email, and Microsoft Teams. Support new processes and products to maintain consistency across shifts. Assist with staffing, workflow, and problem-solving to keep operations on track. What We're Looking For Engaged, hands-on leader with strong communication skills Organized multitasker who thrives in a busy kitchen Able to coach, motivate, and hold staff accountable with positivity Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and digital tools like Teams Committed to food safety, efficiency, and teamwork Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent Valid Food Handler's Card required Knife safety knowledge and ServSafe certification preferred Previous service industry or kitchen leadership experience encouraged Physical Demands & Working Environment This role keeps you active! You'll be on your feet, lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, bending, and using step stools or ladders as needed. Expect a lively, team-focused kitchen with plenty of collaboration and movement.
