Job Description

Responsibility The Press Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of press associates to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production by supervising daily stamping operations, coordinating workflow, and supporting team development. The Team Leader also will assist the Press Coordinator in administration area by being responsible for directed tasks and or short-term goals for the press area. Lead and direct Press team by modeling professionalism and specific procedures for safe manufacturing of high quality automotive structural parts. Support (ATA) efforts to promote Corporate Social Responsibility, (CSR) and ensure activities are carried out in cooperation with G-TEKT CSR, and Corporate Governance initiatives and activities to ensure compliance in functional areas of responsibility. Accountable to Press Coordinator, Press Assistant Manager, Press Manager Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred 1-3 years of experience in metal stamping or automotive manufacturing Proven leadership and communication skills Strong understanding of stamping press operations, dies, and tooling Strong problem solving and decision-making skills Ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment Leadership Provide day-to-day directions and support to press associates and team leaders Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork on the production floor Coach and mentor employees to improve performance, skills, and engagement Lead shift meetings, communicate expectations, and reinforce company goals Address performance issues constructively and support corrective actions Encourage employee involvement in problem-solving and continuous improvement Service Lead, coach, and develop press operators to achieve safety, quality, and production goals Ensure compliance with all safety policies, including LOTO and safe work practices Drive accountability for performance and behavioral expectations on the floor Coordinate cross-functional support to resolve production and quality issues Escalate risks to delivery or quality in a timely and structured manner Conduct daily shift meetings focused on performance, priorities, and communication Train and certify team members on equipment operation and quality standards Operations Lead daily press operations to meet production schedules and takt time requirements Oversee die setup, changeovers, and first-piece validation to ensure quality at startup Monitor and drive key performance indicators (OEE, scrap, downtime, throughput) Troubleshoot equipment and process issues, coordinating with Maintenance as needed Enforce standardized work, 5S, and layered process audits (LPA) Drive continuous improvement initiatives (SMED, waste reduction, efficiency gains) Ensure adherence to control plans, PFMEA requirements, and operator instructions Support new program launches, including trials, run-at-rate, and PPAP readiness Ensure quality parts are safely produced at rate by completing the following. Prepare the press to be ready to run line before the operator arrives Preparation of die setting, fingers, materials Prepare tags and other necessary documentation Ensure a supply of PPE i.e. gloves, sleeves and other safety items are available for operator use Confirm quality parts are produced: Check parts, (quality) as produced, in addition to performing required quality checks, ensure part quality by monitoring parts catchers and physically checking the parts as produced. Make sure the scheduled strokes (quantity) are accomplished Monitor progress toward production target, notify coordinator of problems so they can determine and implement appropriate countermeasure. Make sure to prepare the next items, (confirm die setting, fingers and materials Support

requirements. Ensure Presses/Equipment are set up and ready for production on next scheduled shift.
