Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Dietary Director to lead our dining services department within a well-established senior living community. This is a full-time leadership opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in dietary services, preferably within assisted living, senior living, long-term care, or a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing dietary operations, leading staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and delivering an exceptional dining experience for residents. Position Summary The Dietary Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of dining services, including staff management, menu planning, food safety compliance, inventory management, resident satisfaction, and department operations. We are looking for a hands-on leader who understands the unique demands of senior living dining services and can confidently guide and support a dedicated dietary team. Responsibilities Direct and oversee daily dietary and dining services operations Supervise, coach, and develop dietary staff Create and manage department schedules Ensure compliance with state regulations, food safety standards, and sanitation requirements Oversee menu planning and nutritional quality Manage purchasing, inventory, and food costs Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment Collaborate with leadership and care teams regarding resident dietary needs Promote resident satisfaction through excellent food quality and service Lead departmental initiatives and process improvements Qualifications Previous experience as a Dietary Director, Dining Services Director, Food Service Director, or similar leadership role preferred Minimum of 3+ years of dietary leadership or management experience Senior living, assisted living, long-term care, or skilled nursing experience is required Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, dietary regulations, and compliance standards Experience managing dietary staff and kitchen operations Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred ServSafe Certification preferred (or ability to obtain) Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Schedule Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM-5:00 PM Occasional evening events or weekend coverage may be required based on operational needs What We're Looking For An experienced dietary leader who can confidently manage a senior living dining program A professional with strong regulatory and operational knowledge Someone who thrives in a resident-focused environment A team-oriented leader committed to quality, service, and excellence If you have a passion for senior living, dietary leadership, and providing exceptional resident experiences, we encourage you to apply.
