Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Night Warehouse Manager to oversee outbound warehouse operations during the night shift. This role is responsible for the execution of order selection, staging, and loading operations to ensure accurate and timely shipment of customer orders. The Night Warehouse Manager leads supervisors and warehouse associates across a high-volume shift and is accountable for labor planning, operational execution, safety compliance, and overall shift performance. This position works closely with transportation leadership to ensure loads are completed accurately and dispatched on schedule. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in high-volume distribution environments and the ability to drive operational performance while maintaining a safe and productive workplace.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day outbound warehouse operations including order selection, pallet staging, and trailer loading to ensure accurate and timely shipment of customer orders. Manage and lead a team of 4-6 supervisors and 50+ warehouse associates during the assigned shift including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution. Ensure effective coordination of voice-directed order selection operations to meet productivity and accuracy expectations. Partner with the Transportation Manager and dispatch team to ensure outbound loads are completed on time and in alignment with route schedules. Monitor operational workflow and labor deployment throughout the shift, adjusting staffing and priorities to meet order volume and operational requirements. Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to improve productivity, accuracy, and operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operating procedures while reinforcing a culture of workplace safety. Conduct safety observations, reinforce safety programs, and address incidents or near misses to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure warehouse equipment and facility conditions are maintained through coordination with maintenance teams and prompt reporting of issues. Collaborate with other departments including inventory control, transportation, and customer service to resolve operational issues and maintain service levels. Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, regulatory requirements, and company policies. Perform other related duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate should possess:
Strong knowledge of warehouse outbound operations, order selection processes, and shipping workflows in a high-volume distribution environment. Experience leading large shift-based teams including supervisors and hourly warehouse associates. Working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and labor management tools. Experience operating in a fast-paced distribution environment with time-sensitive shipping schedules. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive accountability. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED is required. 4+ years warehouse management experience. 3+ years of experience managing and leading a team of 50+ associates.
