OVERVIEW
Provides operational oversight, compliance training, and staff support across an assigned group of school kitchens. The Supervisor rotates through buildings in the assigned purview, focusing on cash handling, point-of-sale accuracy, K-12 program compliance, and daily quality assurance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Rotate through an assigned third of the District's schools; support and train staff on cash handling forms, POS counting and claiming procedures, and K-12 compliance rules (Offer vs. Serve, component compliance). ? Train staff on the proper use of shopping lists and forecasting tools; coach Kitchen Managers on forecasting accuracy and waste reduction. ? Conduct daily audits of all required Quality Assurance (QA) logs, including temperature logs, production records, and sanitation records; correct deficiencies in real time. ? Verify claim accuracy and reconcile POS data to ensure meals served are properly counted and coded for federal reimbursement. ? Relay building-level and individual concerns within the purview to the Operations Manager. ? Support Kitchen Managers during high-volume service periods, staff shortages, and compliance reviews. ? Assist with onboarding and in-service training of new cafeteria staff. ? Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and FNS Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework in food service management, business, or related field preferred. Minimum three (3) years of food service experience with at least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory role. Working knowledge of USDA Child Nutrition Program requirements (NSLP, SBP). ServSafe Manager certification required within 30 days of hire. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
? While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. ? The employee is required to have dexterity of hands and fingers. ? The employee is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. ? They may be occasionally required to bend at the waist, kneel or crouch. ? Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. ? While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is seated or walking at will, and must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds.
