Food Service Specialist 5

Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking a Food Service Specialist 5 to join our team! We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. At Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center, we are able to bring you a wide range of services close to home, provided by a network of board-certified physicians. This Food Service Specialist 5 position is located in the Nutritional Services Department. The work schedule will be determined by the Department Manager. Three years of food service experience in a food service operation; OR Three years of training in food technology, food service management, or in a food service-related curriculum in a trade school or technical institute; OR Thirty-six semester hours in food and nutrition, dietetics, food service preparation, home economics, or hotel, food service, restaurant, or institutional management. Job Duties:

Manage daily food operations. Supervise all activities and day to day operations of the Nutritional Services Department. In absence of subordinate staff perform duties such as food preparation, patient meal trays, dishwashing, mopping and serves in all areas where needed. Oversee quality control by inspection of cooked foods to determine that foods are properly prepared, seasoned and served at the correct temperature and portion size. Responsible for special function request such as special catering meals. Attend Educational In-Services, Meetings, Mandatory Training and Annual Review as required by hospital policy and procedure or deemed necessary by manager.
