ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS, DUTIES and
RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities described below are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the basic functions of this position. Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community. 2. As a supervisor, you are expected to have an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals. 3. Oversee the service of meals to residents in the dining room, function rooms and other designated areas of service. 4. Oversees the cleanliness, preparation, training and staffing of the dining room. 5. Assist the Culinary Services Director to assure efficient operation of the culinary service department. Works in all areas of the culinary service department including but not limited to the dining room. 6. Communicates with the Executive Director and culinary and attends meetings as requested. 7. Communicates with kitchen staff to ensure that sick trays and room trays are prepared and ready on time as requested. 8. Maintains the proper order of service for all meals. 9. Assists with Table Service as needed. 10. Assists with scheduling associates, planning events and ordering supplies. 11. Interviews, hires, counsels and terminates dining room personnel in accordance with company policy and guidelines. 12. Conducts and monitors orientation and ongoing training with the Food Servers. 13. Monitors the maintenance, printing and distribution of the daily menus. 14. Ensures that dining room is ready for service according to LCB standards. 15. Ensures that resident needs are anticipated and met in a timely manner. 16. Ensures that all dining staff complies with company uniform policy. 17. Greets residents during dinner and supper service observing dining room schedule for each meal period. 18. Assists residents to table and fulfills seating needs as requested. 19. Assists the dining room staff with pre-bussing and dessert service. 20. Assists the dining room staff in clearing and resetting the dining room. 21. Monitors and maintains inventories of items in the dining room (i.e. coffee, tea, sugar, sugar substitutes, salt, pepper, crackers, dressings, ice creams, silver ware, glassware, china, and linen). Communicates needs to replenish inventory with manager for ordering purposes. 22. Supervises and secures the closing of the dining area at appropriate time.

SUMMARY:
Supervises day-to-day operation of the residents dining room and dining experience to assure resident satisfaction.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
(These qualifications meet or exceed NH, MA, CT and RI State specific requirements.) a.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful complete of a reputable course in food management is preferred. b.
Experience:
Requires a minimum of three years in the food service field, with a minimum of one year of supervisory experience. c.
Certificates/Licenses:
Current ServSafe certificate. d.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of culinary service environment, ability to communicate professionally. Experience with buffet catering. Working knowledge of all kitchen equipment.
