District Wide School Kitchen Supervisor

TYPE OF POSITION

Full-time (1.0); 205-day work year; anticipated start 8/10/2026; salary commensurate with experience (range $39.63-$43.90/hour)

AREA OF CONSIDERATION

All qualified candidates The District Wide School Kitchen Supervisor provides support to the Food Services Director by developing innovative ways to enhance food quality to generate an increase in student/adult participation as well as implementation of procedures for the personnel, culinary training and food production operations, in such a way as to enhance the financial operation, human resources management, and customer satisfaction with the School Nutrition Program. The District Wide School Kitchen Supervisor reports to the School Nutrition Director, and the School Principal.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree with Culinary, Business or Dietetic experience preferred; Serve Safe certified, Mass Allergen certified, SNA of Mass certified (within 6 months of hire); Minimum 2 years' experience in high volume cooking and/or catering. Demonstrated knowledge of food service business and operational functions, and supervisory experience with quantity food production and purchasing; Demonstrated knowledge of food values and dietetic principles of food preparation; Excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills; Demonstrated skill and knowledge in the use of technology, computers, and Mosaic, MySchoolBucks or other food service software; Knowledge of capital improvements, maintenance, and preventive maintenance as applied to food service operations; Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the School Nutrition Director or Superintendent may find appropriate.

DUTIES:

Assists Director and Assistant Director with preparation of menus, and plans and coordinates work flow for kitchen; Ensures conformance with quality, nutrition, and productivity standards as well as federal, state and local guidelines, operating in a sanitary and safe environment; Assists Director and Assistant Director with maintaining accurate site-based records of meal counts, production records, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) records, cash reports, and cash control; Assists Director with staff evaluations, and provides culinary training to Cafeteria Cook/Managers and school cafeteria staff to meet the needs of students; Assists Director in designing, set up, and implementation of nutrition education programs district-wide, and develops marketing and themed promotions monthly at each school; Develops relationships with local farms to establish farm-to-school initiatives; Tests recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation, to ensure quality control; Manages and oversees catering events throughout the district; Other duties, as directed by the School Nutrition Director and Assistant Director Online is our preferred method of application, however, if you wish to apply by mail, please download and print the appropriate application form on our website: https://www.hopkinton.k12.ma.us/employment1 Send your completed application to: Human Resources Hopkinton Public Schools 89 Hayden Rowe St. Hopkinton, MA 01748 Incomplete applications are not able to be considered.
