Job Description

Electrician Lead (3rd shift) Allied Reliability is seeking an Electrician Lead in Landover, MD to work in an industrial environment with heacy machinery. Experience with Food and/or Beverage is helpful.

Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance & Conduct
  • Adhering to all company rules, regulations, policies, and core values—including those detailed in the Code of Conduct and Employee Handbook.

  • Performing all duties in a safe manner, following
OSHA, NEC
codes, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Strictly adhering to all safety practices, PPE requirements, and communication protocols (e.g., maintaining radio contact if assigned).
  • Complying with the Company's Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Management System by:
  • Following all safety policies and procedures
  • Participating in required training
  • Reporting hazards, incidents, or near misses

certification and continuous improvement of OH&S performanceManufacturing Practices & Housekeeping
  • Maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and excellent housekeeping standards throughout the shift, in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Upholding 5S work area organization and contributing to activities that improve work conditions.
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
  • Assisting with testing and commissioning of newly installed packaging equipment.
  • Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and preventive maintenance (PM) processes specific to new equipment.
  • Creating troubleshooting guides and diagnosing equipment issues to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on electrical/mechanical systems according to schedules, OEM recommendations, technical requirements, and departmental standards.
  • Installing and connecting new systems including wiring, conduit, fuses, circuit breakers, clock circuits, magnetic starters, and control systems.
  • Responding promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime; performing emergency repairs as needed.
  • Troubleshooting complex equipment problems; identifying potential hazards; recommending corrective actions; estimating time, equipment, and materials required for repairs.
Technical Documentation & Systems Use
  • Utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as Maintimizer, for:
  • Preventive maintenance development
  • Documentation
  • Work order management
  • Requisitioning parts/materials as required
  • Interpreting mechanical drawings, critical spare parts lists, and equipment manuals to facilitate maintenance activities and training.
Teamwork & Collaboration
  • Working collaboratively with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to influence operational best practices and reliability standards.
  • Demonstrating strong teamwork or individual contribution within high-performance teams.
Continuous Improvement & Adaptability
  • Contributing to process enhancements through a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Learning the functionality of plant equipment (e.
g., VFDs, case packers, grinders, roasters) and participating in equipment rebuilds/OEM maintenance activities when requested.

Key Qualifications and RequirementsEducation & Certification
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of a technical/trade school program, millwright apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification
  • OSHA-compliant Fall Protection Training and certification in the operation of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP) requiredExperience & Technical Skills
  • Minimum five years of electrical experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • At least six months in a Maintenance Lead or equivalent role
  • Proven troubleshooting experience across all key areas of the packaging line (e.g., Former, case packer, palletizer)
  • Proficient in repair and maintenance of electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing electrical controls and production systems with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot PLCs, including ControlLogix, MicroLogix, SLC 500, and other Allen Bradley platforms
  • Proficient with both 3-phase and single-phase electrical systems (installation, troubleshooting, maintenance)
  • Expertise with AC and DC voltage applications in industrial/manufacturing environmentsOperational & Safety Requirements
  • Maintains hand radio at all times while on duty
  • Actively participates in TATA Safety programs and ads to all safety protocolsAdditional Competencies
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation; skilled at parts identification and procurement procedures
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in using computer applications relevant to maintenance and operations
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement mindset; actively contributes to process enhancements#LI-TS1
