Shift Lead 929 Washington Blvd S, Laurel, MD 20707 $16.50 - $18.00 an hour - Full-time $16.50 - $18.00 an hour - Full-time Job Summary We are looking for a reliable and motivated Shift Lead to join our team. The Shift Lead is responsible for helping ensure each shift runs smoothly, supporting employees, maintaining great customer service, and making sure daily tasks are completed properly and on time. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Oversee daily shift operations and help ensure the shift runs smoothly. Make sure employees are completing assigned tasks and following company procedures. Provide excellent customer service and assist with customer concerns when needed. Support team members during busy periods and help keep the workflow organized. Track and monitor shift-related tasks, checklists, and daily operational needs. Ensure food safety procedures are followed at all times. Help maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper food handling standards. Communicate any issues, concerns, or updates to management. Assist with opening, closing, and other shift duties as needed. Help train and guide employees during the shift. Additional responsibilities include overseeing café operations such as drink preparation, food prep, restocking, cleanliness, cash handling, and customer service. The Shift Lead will help ensure employees are following recipes, portion standards, food safety procedures, and daily checklists. This role also includes monitoring inventory, tracking waste, completing temperature or food safety logs, assisting with online and in-person orders, and communicating any issues to management. Requirements Previous leadership, food service, café, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred. Must have or be willing to obtain a valid food safety license/certification. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to stay organized and work well under pressure. Reliable, punctual, and professional. Ability to support and motivate a team. Must be able to follow company policies and food safety standards. Schedule Availability may includes morning shifts Monday-Friday and evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
