About The Good Table The Good Table is a restaurant in the heart of Cape Elizabeth — a place to slow down, catch up, and eat something made with care. We serve Bard Coffee, pizzas made to order, and a rotating selection of pastries alongside grab-and-go options for when you're on the move. Part of the Prentice Hospitality Group, The Good Table reflects the same commitment to genuine hospitality and quality that the group is known for — just in a quicker fashion. Position Summary Work the line alongside the team — this is a hands-on role, not a desk job Build and manage weekly schedules, coordinate coverage, and handle shift adjustments Oversee daily prep, station setup, and service execution — making sure every shift starts and ends right Oversee beer and wine component Manage ordering, inventory, and supplier relationships — keeping stock levels right without over-ordering Keep a close eye on food cost, waste, and portion control — and flag issues before they become problems Onboard and develop staff — set the tone for a culture of accountability and mutual respect Own food safety and sanitation standards — lead by example and ensure the whole team follows suit Serve as the main point of contact between kitchen operations and ownership/management Qualifications 2+ years of kitchen/management leadership experience Comfortable leading a small team with a direct, positive style Strong grasp of food cost, ordering, and inventory basics High standards for food quality, cleanliness, and consistency Calm under pressure ServSafe Manager certification required (or willing to obtain) What We Offer Competitive pay Seasonal employment in a beautiful setting Opportunities for growth within Prentice Hospitality Group Supportive, team-oriented work environment Why Join Us At PHG, our work is guided by three core pillars: A Culinary Lens, Modern Service with Classic Values, and A Sense of Place.
