Doing:
As the Meat Team Leader, you will be responsible for the overall operation of both departments, ensuring exceptional customer experiences while driving sales, profitability, team engagement, and food safety excellence. Department Leadership Lead, coach, and develop Meat Team Members. Build an engaged, high-performing team through training, accountability, and recognition. Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions to maintain appropriate staffing levels. Support onboarding and development of new team members. Create a positive and inclusive work environment focused on teamwork and customer service. Business Operations Own the financial performance of the Meat department. Monitor sales, labor, shrink, inventory, and operational metrics. Develop action plans to achieve department goals and improve performance. Manage labor scheduling to deliver excellent service while controlling expenses. Ensure efficient execution of daily production and merchandising plans. Customer Experience Deliver an outstanding fresh-food shopping experience. Ensure service is friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Maintain fully stocked, fresh, and visually appealing sales cases and displays. Resolve customer concerns professionally while creating loyal customers. Food Safety & Compliance Maintain strict food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance standards. Ensure all equipment, cutting areas, display cases, coolers, and preparation areas are maintained and cleaned according to company standards. Conduct routine inspections and coach team members on proper food handling procedures. Lead by example in maintaining a safe working environment. Inventory & Product Management Manage inventory levels and product freshness. Reduce shrink through accurate ordering, rotation, production planning, and inventory management. Monitor in-stock conditions and ensure departments are prepared for seasonal and promotional events. Support accurate pricing, signing, and merchandising execution.
