This position is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment in accordance with licensing regulations and food safety standards. Responsibilities Prepare and serve daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children of various ages. Create and maintain weekly menus that meet nutritional guidelines, licensing requirements, and CACFP standards while providing a variety of healthy, child-friendly meal options. Accommodate food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special nutritional needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. Ensure proper food storage, handling, and preparation procedures. Monitor and maintain food temperature logs and required documentation. Manage food inventory and assist with ordering supplies. Wash dishes and kitchen equipment and complete daily cleaning duties. Comply with all state licensing requirements, health department regulations, and food safety standards. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Previous cooking or food service experience. Experience in a child care center, school, healthcare, or commercial kitchen preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures. Ability to stand for extended periods.
