Shift:
Sunday- Wednesday 8 pm - 6 am
Summary:
Provide leadership and supervision to a group or team of employees. Work collaboratively with all plant leadership to ensure efficient production targets are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead team leads and production personnel to ensure everyday manufacturing tasks are performed efficiently, clearly communicating daily shift objectives, assigning specific operational tasks, and providing ongoing feedback to align the team with company performance goals. Manage and oversee employee work schedules, review and approve timecards to ensure precise payroll processing, and administer company policies fairly while providing employee mentoring, coaching, and constructive counseling when necessary. Partner with Human Resources to resolve employee relations issues, foster a respectful work environment, and assist in the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding process for new production team members. Implement, monitor, and enforce all corporate safety policies, environmental procedures, and regulatory protocols while ensuring all employees receive comprehensive training in all safety-related aspects of their specific roles. Conduct regular workplace safety audits and incident investigations, approve and implement corrective action plans to systematically eliminate health and safety hazards, and actively participate in Safety Committee tasks and long-term initiatives. Enforce established quality standards and operational process procedures on the production floor, immediately identifying variances or defects to execute appropriate corrective actions. Monitor production equipment downtime, identify root-cause issues, and coordinate with maintenance and other departments to execute swift corrective actions to keep the shift running efficiently. Facilitate seamless communication and updates between plant leadership, production teams, and external resources by managing comprehensive shift communication logs and reports. Maintain high standards of plant organization, cleanliness, and housekeeping within the immediate production area and across the entire facility. Lead and participate in regular team meetings to identify bottlenecks, resolve operational issues, and strengthen team cohesion. Collaborate with various departments, external suppliers, and vendors to exchange technical information, resolve delivery issues, and troubleshoot problems concerning raw materials, goods, and services to maintain an uninterrupted workflow.
Basic Qualifications:
Language skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and professionally to customers or employees of organization. Mathematic skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts using addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment and procedures. Demonstrated leadership skills including facilitation, coaching, training and conflict resolution. Excellent organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and teamwork skills. Demonstrated proficiency with computer programs such as MS Office and internal systems.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
High School diploma or equivalent experience preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment. Minimum 3 years of Supervisor or Leadership experience preferred.
Work Environment:
Industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery and mechanical equipment. Exposure to bark, sawdust, and fluctuating seasonal temperatures (hot, cold, humid). Due to exposure to noise above the permissible exposure limit (PEL), falling hazards, and sawdust, employees must wear hearing protection, a hard hat, safety glasses, and safety footwear, and a high-visibility shirt/vest. This safety-sensitive position requires employees to comply with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and required drug and alcohol testing procedures. Combined office and industrial/manufacturing work setting.
Physical Demands:
Stand or walk for extended periods (8-12-hour workdays). Climb and descend steps, stairways, or ladders several times per shift. Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
