In this vital role, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nutritious meal services for students, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Your leadership will foster a positive dining environment, promote healthy eating habits, and support the overall well-being of students. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student health and academic success through innovative nutrition initiatives. Responsibilities Manage daily operations of the school nutrition department, including meal preparation, service, and sanitation standards. Supervise and train staff members to ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to safety protocols. Develop and oversee menus that meet dietary guidelines while accommodating special dietary needs such as assisted living or tube feeding requirements. Conduct regular assessments of food quality, safety practices, and compliance with nutrition standards. Oversee budgeting, inventory management, and procurement processes to optimize resource allocation. Lead efforts in dietary department management by implementing best practices in physiology knowledge, dietetics, and nutrition science. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness through diagnostic evaluation techniques and student feedback. Ensure all operations align with federal nutrition programs and local health regulations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, Food Service Management or related field; advanced certifications preferred. Proven management experience within dietary departments or food service operations, ideally in educational or assisted living settings. Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition principles, and care plans tailored to diverse student needs. Demonstrated supervising experience with a focus on team leadership and staff development. Familiarity with budgeting processes, inventory control, and procurement procedures. Excellent communication skills for health coaching and stakeholder collaboration. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
