In this vital role, you will oversee daily kennel operations, ensuring the highest standards of animal care, safety, and customer service. You'll coordinate pet care activities, and maintain a clean, organized environment that promotes the well-being of every animal in our facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on pets' lives while developing your leadership abilities in a fast-paced, pet-focused setting. Responsibilities Both independently lead shifts and work with a team to oversee animal handling and care. Oversee daily kennel operations including feeding, cleaning, grooming, and exercise routines for dogs Ensure all animals are handled safely using proper restraint techniques and are monitored for health or behavioral issues Assist with dog enrichment activities to promote good behavior and socialization among pets Maintain detailed records of animal health, behavior observations, and care activities in compliance with facility standards Uphold safety protocols by managing heavy lifting tasks and ensuring the proper use of equipment to prevent injuries Weekend and holiday work is required Skills Proven experience in dog handling, pet grooming, or pet sitting with a strong understanding of animal care best practices Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is highly desirable Knowledge of dog training techniques to assist in behavioral development programs Ability to handle animals safely using restraint methods appropriate for different species and temperaments Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking during busy shifts Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members and manage shift responsibilities efficiently Must be 18+ to apply per our insurance policy Must be comfortable working independently and be able to self-manage Join us if you're eager to work in a lively environment where your love for animals makes a difference!
