Job Description

Job Description - Fine Dining Host Food and Beverage Cataloochee Ranch is a Relais & Châteaux resort that mixes classic ranch fun with exceptional accommodations and cuisine. Founded almost a hundred years ago by the Alexander family, Cataloochee Ranch has been a favorite mountain getaway for generations of high-country adventurers. Spread across hundreds of acres along the southeastern border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the property's breathtaking elevation, open balds, and long-range views are complemented by classic comforts, perfectly rustic cuisine, humble hospitality, and hands-on, expert-led activities. Support the Supervisors and Restaurant Managers in the implementation of Cataloochee Ranch's fine dining service vision in alignment with Relais & Châteaux standards. Collaborate in training and development and innovation, ensuring top level service, a full working knowledge of all amenities and offerings of Cataloochee Ranch, and coordinate with guest services & housekeeping with guest needs. Lead the host stand operations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and adherence to Relais & Chateaux service standards across all dining rooms and special event locations. Assist with creating weekly floor plans, interdepartmental coordination, confirming all reservations, aid in creating reservations for in-houseguests prior to their arrival, and know/ communicate all of Cataloochee Ranch offerings and amenities to all guests. Teach the employees on all the services available to the guests advocating for the history of the Ranch, knowing all the trails, all adventures offered, all cabins, and guest services needs from F&B. Switchback, assisting with guest requests and anticipating needs to create an environment of personalized service in the dining room.

Create and provide memorable guest experiences. 5. Learning table numbers, utilizing the reservation system to ensure timely/efficient flow of service for our guests. 6. Create and maintain professional relationships with guests and coworkers. 7. Knowledgeable of all menu items to be able to describe them in detail to guests, including being able to answer questions regarding allergens and dietary restrictions. 8. Assist the servers with side duties to ensure all guest supplies are ready for service. 9. Operate Point-of-Sale system, processing cash and credit card transactions as well as room charges. 10. Ability to explain amenities and activities that are available to guests. 11. Work with other departments to ensure guest requests are met and expectations are exceeded. 12. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining friendliness and professionalism. 13. Exhibits attention to detail in all aspects of job duties. 14. Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff. 15. Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude. 16. Assist with cleaning any spilled items, broken items, removing trash, mopping, or vacuuming floors, or other various duties as requested by management.
Minimum Requirements:
A strong desire to provide memorable, authentic service. Previous host or POS experience, excellent people skills with friendly attitude.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work varied shifts based on guest & business needs. Sitting, walking, standing, and bending. Lifting/Carrying up to 25 lbs.
