Your duties will include monitoring employees? organizing workflows, analyzing the efficiency of manufacturing processes, performing product testing, ensuring standards are maintained and ensuring product integrity is preserved, and ensuring our inbound and outbound products meet all quality control and safety standards. The Quality Assurance Lead must have, or achieve within a reasonable timeframe, certification in SQF, HAACP, and GMP programs. Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities: Assists the Quality Assurance Manager in developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Program instructions Work with Production Managers, Supervisors, and Leads to monitor and document the food safety and food quality of raw and finished products; report any deviation from quality of service that may become a potential liability Supervises the time and production records as required Ensures product is processed to the company's
HACCP/HARPC
programs. Informs Quality Assurance Management of ANY food safety issues Implements and manages food safety corrective actions Prioritizes and performs position responsibilities accurately and to deadline Provides assistance to local and corporate management in carrying out changes to the food safety system of the facility, giving assistance in creating, reviewing, authenticating, and maintaining food safety system documents, including standard operating procedures and programs, working in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team; provides assistance in maintaining document registers and documentation. Provides daily monitoring of QA personnel to ensure compliance with the food safety system of the facility; performs or directs those performing formal audits on GMP. Safely keeps records of all facility analytical results; immediately reports results discovered to be out of specification to the QA Manager. Keeps documented reports of analytical results submitted to the QA Manager, also responsible for tracking and reporting data trends. Responsible for QA Techs inspecting raw materials coming in; investigates non-conformance and complaints about product; and provides leadership for the facility team in performing self-audits. Responsible for hosting visitors to the facility with the Plant Manager, including regulatory agency representatives and customer representatives. Knows and understands the applicable FDA regulations and GMPs. Possesses an innovative, resourceful, and proactive disposition, committed to ensuring continuous improvement of capacity and quality service.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of QA leadership experience required, preferably in the food manufacturing industry. Previous lead/supervisory experience in a USDA and/or FDA food manufacturing/processing environment is strongly desired Quality Assurance Certification in
SQF, HACCP, and GMP Leadership:
a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
Planning:
an ability to think ahead and plan over a 30-day time span and prepare action plans to achieve results Supervision, including employee hiring and retention, performance review, and discipline Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations Ability to manage time effectively, including consistently being on time to work, meetings, and training sessions An ability to manage multiple priorities Flexibility with work schedule to meet the needs of the operations
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Industry experience Ability to effectively communicate in English. consistently communicate verbally or in writing, any pertinent information regarding food safety, food quality, or quality assurance matters to the QA team, QA Manager, and operations, and customers when applicable Extreme detail orientation and thoroughness Excellent interpersonal skills with internal and external customers Good computer skills, including Word and Excel knowledge Working Conditions This position will be performed both within our office environment and our production floor, which is a wet/cold environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production-type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures This is largely a static role with standing; however, the ability to perform repetitive bending and standing up is also required. This would require the ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally. Depending on the area must also be able to push/pull up to 250 lbs. on rollers occasionally.

Universal Pure facilities may process, pack, and store products containing allergenic food ingredients as referenced by the FDA. Team members who may come in direct contact must be able to work with these ingredients.
