Job Description

Kitchen Lead Chichester Market is seeking a dependable and experienced Kitchen Lead to help build and run the kitchen in our new family-owned butcher, market, and kitchen in Chichester, NH. This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys cooking, takes pride in quality and consistency, and is excited to help shape a kitchen from the ground up. The Kitchen Lead will be responsible for day-to-day kitchen operations, food preparation, menu planning, ingredient and supply management, and maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. This person will play an important role in developing grab-and-go meals, sandwiches, and other prepared foods that fit the style and quality of Chichester Market. We are looking for someone who can work independently, stay organized, take ownership of the kitchen, and help create a food program that is consistent, appealing, and well-executed.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook food for grab-and-go meals, sandwiches, and other prepared items Help plan and develop menu items that fit the store's style and customer demand Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all food offerings Manage ingredient needs and communicate supply needs in a timely manner Help oversee ordering, inventory, and product rotation for kitchen ingredients and supplies Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and operating efficiently Follow all food safety, sanitation, storage, and temperature-control standards Assist with prep schedules, daily production, and kitchen workflow Minimize waste and help manage food cost through proper preparation and organization Support training and direction of kitchen staff as needed Work closely with ownership to build and improve the prepared food program over time
Qualifications:
Prior kitchen, cooking, or food service leadership experience preferred Strong cooking skills and understanding of food preparation and kitchen workflow Menu planning experience or the ability to help develop practical, appealing food offerings Strong organizational skills and ability to manage ingredient and supply needs Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness standards Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, reach, twist, push, and pull throughout the day Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and handle hot and cold conditions as needed
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
