About the Role The Packing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the assembly of Georgie's Kitchen meals into retail packaging in line with documented packing specifications, and the accurate picking of meals against customer orders. Leading a packing team of 5+ direct reports, this role ensures assembly quality and picking accuracy, leads the label printing operation, and works in partnership with the driver team to ensure outload times are met. This is a detail-oriented leadership role requiring exceptional standards in a fast-paced, high-volume commercial kitchen environment. What You'll Do Print product and box labels daily in line with customer orders Lead the packing team to assemble, seal, sleeve, and label all meals with the correct product label and use-by date in line with packing specifications Lead the packing team to pick customer orders into boxes, ensuring pick accuracy by following the pick IT solution provided Lead the packing team to load collated orders into raclettes and then dispensers in line with specifications Coordinate the preparation and packaging of subcomponents in advance of full meal assembly, including vegetable preparation, cold mixing, potting, and bagging of ingredients Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs, including prep and cleaning Leadership & Team Management Lead a packing team of 5+ direct reports, ensuring quality, accuracy, and pace across the assembly and pick operations Work in partnership with the preparation and cooking team to ensure prepared chilled food is received in a timely manner and meets quality standards before packing, raising and correcting quality issues as they arise Lead the van driver team to ensure outload times are met, dispensers are charged and cleaned ready for use, and deliveries are made on time Troubleshoot delivery issues alongside the kitchen leadership team Kitchen & Inventory Operations Maintain the assembly and pick area to the highest level of organization, food safety, and cleanliness Conduct weekly packaging stock takes and work in partnership with the Operations Analyst to maintain optimum stock levels of all packaging items Manage inventory with strong stock rotation discipline to minimize waste while maintaining adequate stock levels Food Safety & Compliance Maintain food safety standards throughout the packing and picking operation Ensure assembly and pick areas meet hygiene and food safety standards at all times Follow documented packing specifications and HACCP requirements
What We're Looking For:
Minimum 1 year of experience leading a packing, warehouse, or production team Solid working knowledge of food safety and HACCP systems Proven team leadership skills Proven ability to follow documented production processes consistently and precisely Experience managing inventory, including stock rotation, with a track record of minimizing waste while maintaining adequate stock levels Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain quality standards consistently under time pressure during peak service periods Fluent in verbal and written English Good communication skills Basic computer and mathematical skills Calm, rational, patient, and resilient, with the ability to treat others with respect and kindness High School Diploma or equivalent Working Conditions Continuous standing and movement throughout shifts of 8-10 hours in a fast-paced commercial kitchen environment Frequent exposure to a chilled environment Regular handling of heavy equipment; safe work practices must be observed at all times Repetitive tasks including pushing and lifting performed throughout each shift Periodic lifting of up to 50 pounds for receiving deliveries and moving stock High-noise, high-pressure environment during peak service periods, requiring sustained concentration and composure AVF is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
