Job Description
Overview The Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing catering, banquet, and concessions operations to ensure exceptional guest service, operational efficiency, and compliance with company standards for both Boardwalk Hall and the Atlantic City Convention Center. This position provides direct supervision of event staff, concession teams, food runners, bartenders, cashiers, and banquet personnel while supporting Food & Beverage management with training, inventory control, staffing, and special events. The ideal candidate is personable, organized, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. This role pays an hourly rate of $23.00 Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching. This position will remain open until September 11, 2026. Responsibilities Event & Operations Management Supervise food and beverage service for catered events, banquets, concession stands, bars, and portable locations. Ensure proper setup and breakdown of banquet functions, including linens, dishware, glassware, silverware, equipment, and service stations. Verify concession locations are fully operational before events, including inventory levels, food production, staffing assignments, cash handling procedures, and equipment readiness. Provide operational leadership to ensure events are executed efficiently, safely, and profitably. Assist with scheduling, staffing, inventory management, special events, and post-event reconciliation. Cover open positions as needed to maintain service standards and operational continuity. Record PO's and invoices timely after receiving products, as well as ordering products per event according to data received. Guest Service Ensure guests receive prompt, courteous, and professional service. Oversee meal and beverage service, including buffet operations and point-of-sale transactions. Address guest concerns and resolve service issues in a timely and professional manner. Recommend menu items and provide product knowledge to guests when appropriate. Alcohol Service & Compliance Supervise the responsible service of alcoholic beverages and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. Verify guest identification and minimum age requirements for alcohol purchases. Monitor guest consumption and take appropriate action when guests appear visibly intoxicated. Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and safety regulations. Leadership & Team Development Supervise, coach, and support concession, banquet, bar, and catering staff. Train new and existing employees on company policies, procedures, service standards, and best practices. Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment. Assist management with employee performance coaching, corrective actions, documentation, and other human resources-related responsibilities. Understand the Union CBA Financial & Administrative Responsibilities Monitor POS operations and cash handling procedures. Ensure accurate cash reconciliation and inventory accountability. Assist with inventory counts, product controls, and operational reporting. Maintain accurate records and communicate operational issues to management. Maintain excellent attendance and availability for scheduled events. Ensure all equipment and work areas are clean, safe, and operational. Oversee post-event breakdown activities for all catering functions and concession locations, ensuring compliance with company standards for cleanliness, organization, inventory control, and equipment storage. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications 1-2 years of supervisory experience in food & beverage, catering, banquets, restaurants, concessions, hospitality, or related environments. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. Working knowledge of POS systems, inventory controls, and Microsoft Office applications preferred. Ability to accurately handle cash and perform basic mathematical calculations. Food Handler Certification and/or Alcohol Service Certification required where applicable by state or local regulations. High School Diploma or equivalent required; hospitality-related education preferred. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours based on event schedules.
