SUPERVISOR IN TRAINING THIS POSITION IS FOR NIGHTS ONLY. 3PM TO 10
30 PM.
MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS.
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Food Service Supervisor to help lead our main ice cream location in Caldwell. In this role, you will oversee daily food activities, ensure exceptional customer experiences, and maintain high standards of food quality and safety. Your leadership will inspire your team to deliver fast, friendly service in a lively environment, whether in casual dining, quick service, or catering settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage diverse food service functions while fostering a positive and efficient workplace. Training for this role includes starting from the bottom and progressing each week to a new position and set of responsibilities, before ascending into the role full time. Its important to learn each role to better manage and be able to help out later. Responsibilities Supervise daily food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality. Oversee POS systems such as Square POS for accurate order processing and cash handling. Manage inventory control, including stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste. Train and develop staff in food safety protocols, customer service excellence, and operational procedures. Lead shift management by coordinating team schedules, assigning tasks, and ensuring smooth restaurant flow. Enforce food safety standards and sanitation practices in compliance with health regulations. Support kitchen management by supervising food production, catering events, and banquet services as needed. Handle customer inquiries or complaints promptly to uphold high satisfaction levels. Assist with budgeting, cost control, and overall food service management to optimize profitability. Conduct staff interviews, onboarding, and performance evaluations to build a motivated team environment. Experience Proven supervising experience in a fast-paced food service environment such as quick service restaurants or casual dining establishments. Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations. Familiarity with POS systems for transaction processing. Strong background in inventory control, food safety standards (such as ServSafe certification), and food handling procedures. Experience managing staff training & development programs within hospitality or restaurant management settings. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage shift operations effectively. Previous involvement in restaurant management roles including budgeting, cost control, and customer service excellence. Exposure to hotel or catering environments is a plus; culinary experience or fine dining background is highly valued.
