Job Summary:

The Shift Lead Custodian assists the Head Custodian in the oversight of the maintenance and operation of building including heating, plumbing, electrical, and emergency systems, in addition to providing work direction to staff to provide safe, clean, and comfortable surroundings for staff and students. Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following: Inspects, and monitors heating, plumbing, electrical, emergency equipment and supporting equipment for efficient and proper operation Assumes the responsibility of the Head Custodian in their absence Coordinates custodial supply needs with the Head Custodian Coordinates and assigns tasks to the custodial staff; checks in with staff as needed Cleans, scrubs, strips, waxes, buffs, sweeps, or vacuums floors, etc. in assigned areas Reassigns staff and assists staff with their cleaning areas when there are absent staff members Performs minor maintenance repairs to building and equipment Maintains building security and secures building nightly including programming of controlled exterior doors Assists with winter grounds maintenance at building entries Serves as the primary shift operator for the HVAC system Monitors the Building Automation System and perform some basic scheduling functions Assists staff to set up equipment, bleachers, chairs, and tables, etc. for special events, including all community education activities; and cleans up after activities Reports maintenance and staff concerns to

Must possess a Second Class Boiler license-Minnesota (2-C).
