DT's mission is to move clients off the path of emergency care to one where they can grow, learn, and flourish by emphasizing economic, social, and mental empowerment through comprehensive educational, financial, and health programs, as well as housing solutions. As an expanding multi-site organization, Destination Tomorrow proudly serves the community across The Bronx, New York City; Atlanta, GA; and Washington, D.C.
Position Summary:
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and proactive Shift Supervisors to serve as on-site leaders within our residential programs. In this role, you will help ensure the safety and well-being of residents, coordinate daily operations, provide direct support services, and foster a welcoming environment where clients can thrive. What You'll Do Support daily program operations and assist residents with move-ins, move-outs, and program orientation Provide direct support, resource referrals, and ongoing communication to clients Assist with meal service and help coordinate recreational, educational, and wellness activities Conduct facility rounds to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment Respond to incidents and crises, documenting events and communicating with management as needed Monitor resident well-being and connect clients with appropriate services and resources Maintain accurate records, including attendance, shift reports, visitor logs, and client notes Provide client support during evening and overnight shifts Participate in staff training and other duties as assigned What We're Looking For High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in social services, shelter operations, residential programs, case management support , customer service, or a related field Experience working with individuals impacted by homelessness, poverty, health challenges, mental health concerns, or cultural and language barriers Strong communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Commitment to serving LGBTQ+ communities with respect, empathy, and cultural humility Ability to remain calm and professional during crises and challenging situations Required Certifications Candidates must possess or be willing to obtain the following certifications at their own expense: F-80 Certificate of Fitness Food Handler's Permit What We Offer Competitive salary offering $50,000 Robust medical, dental, and vision insurance.
