Job Description

Food Service Director Rate:
$28 - $30/hour (depending on experience)
Shift:
Full Time North Gate Health Care Facility is looking to add a Food Service Director to its team. In this role, you'll oversee all aspects of the Dietary Department, ensuring residents receive high-quality, nutritious meals while maintaining food safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the daily operations of the Dietary Department, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and departmental performance Supervise meal production and service to ensure meals are nutritious, appealing, and served according to resident dietary needs Develop menus, maintain standardized recipes, manage inventory, and monitor food and supply costs Ensure compliance with food safety, OSHA, infection control, and regulatory requirements Educate and mentor dietary staff while fostering a positive and engaging work environment Maintain equipment, temperature logs, safety records, and departmental documentation Address resident concerns and grievances related to dietary services and ensure timely resolution Participate in facility surveys, quality improvement initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaboration Provide leadership during emergency situations and support overall resident satisfaction
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education requirement: Completion of a Dietary Management Certificate Course; Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred Minimum experience requirement: 3 years of Food Service Management experience; 5 years preferred Knowledge of food safety regulations, dietary operations, and inventory management Strong leadership, organizational, and team development skills Excellent verbal and written communication abilities Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Ability to work collaboratively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams Commitment to providing exceptional customer service and resident-centered care
