Job Description
A DAY IN THE LIFE
Shift Leads are trained to perform all the duties that Team Members do, with additional responsibility for ensuring a smooth-running shift. This is especially important in the absence of the General Manager or Manager in Training (MIT) - as they assume that leadership role. Assists with ensuring compliance with company standards in all areas of operation, including product preparation and delivery, customer relations, restaurant maintenance, team management and other duties as required or assigned. Position requires qualified individuals to be able to see, hear and speak (verbally and audibly). Required to ascend and descend stairs; sit and stand for extended periods of time, be able to lift to 30 pounds, bend, stoop and kneel. May be required to work outside in various weather conditions. May be required to work on a computer for extended periods of time, including viewing the screen, using a mouse, manipulating a keyboard with hands, and reaching with arms. May be asked to drive or travel by car, air, or other transportation for business purposes. Must be able to function effectively in a fast-paced working environment. Must be able to report to work responsive, free from sedatives, and in a non-sedative state. Must disclose prescribed and/or over-the-counter pharmaceuticals that may impair or affect the ability to perform the job's essential functions. Natural and regular stressors occur on the job. Overview We're looking for an energetic and reliable Shift Lead to join our dynamic team. As a Shift Lead, you will be the go-to person during your shift, overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring our standards for food quality, safety, and customer service are consistently met. This role is perfect for someone with a background in food service management who thrives in fast-paced settings and enjoys leading a team. Responsibilities Supervise daily restaurant operations during your shift, ensuring smooth workflow and excellent guest experiences. Assist with food preparation, cooking, and presentation to uphold quality standards. Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate order processing and cash handling. Oversee inventory control, including stock rotation, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste. Train new staff members on food safety, customer service, and operational procedures to foster a knowledgeable team. Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction. Support kitchen management by maintaining cleanliness, safety standards, and efficient food production. Experience Previous supervisory or managerial experience in quick service or fast food restaurants is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols. Experience with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous. Proven ability in staff training, team management, and developing a positive work environment. Background in hospitality management or restaurant management with a focus on customer service excellence. Familiarity with inventory control, budgeting, and food handling procedures. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and manage multiple priorities effectively.
