Shift Supervisor Mahanoy City, PA 17948 Apply Overview Level Experienced Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Category Health Care Apply Description Position Summary This positing integrates STR Silver Pines' Second Shift with Clinical Programming, Medical Admissions, and Management. This position is responsible for engaging and connecting with clients in services as well as provide support for after-hour phone calls with family and significant others. This position supports Behavioral Health Techs and Nursing staff on Second Shift. This position ensures Second Shift programming and flow are representative of STR Silver Pines' standards. The Nighttime supervisor implements, executes and supervises nighttime and evening programming. Also, supports intakes and discharges during the evening hours while ensuring a safe environment and respect for all clients and staff. Relationships and Contacts Within the organization: Establish and maintain productive working relationships with peers and accounting team members throughout STR Silver Pines and affiliated facilities.
Outside the organization:
Establish and maintain productive working relationships with third party vendors, as necessary. Position Responsibilities 1. Train all Second Shift Behavioral Health Techs 2. Assist in hiring process of new Behavioral Health Techs 3. Schedule and manage monthly BHT schedule 4. Directly supervise all second shift BHT's 5. Provide one on one supervision with all Second Shift BHT's 6. Complete or supervise the completion of client satisfaction surveys, if they discharge during evening hours 7. Develop and cultivate meaningful relationships with clients 8. Plan, implement, supervise, and support the execution of evening program schedule to coordinate, elective, med management, individual sessions, and care management needs. 9. Ensure that nightly programming is dynamic and meets community and STR Silver Pines needs 10. Supervise appropriate EMR note taking and documentation for all second shift programs 11. Ensure Electronic Medical Record client bed board is updated and accurate 12. Supervise, coordinate, and implement intakes during traditional and non-traditional hours and days 13. Schedule and execute all second and third shift transportation for new clients when needed 14. Implement, ensure, and supervise all evening admits are appropriately oriented to the program 15. Collaborate with treatment team and meet with clients that may need changes in their treatment plan around challenging behavior or treatment engagement. 16. Schedule and implement client recreational activities, phone schedule, meeting schedule, etc. 17. Complete daily shift reports job description p. 2 18. Attend and engage in Clinical Team meetings to discuss client engagement in services and clinical impressions 19. Implement and supervise APA Protocol 20. Implement, supervise, and audit STR Silver Pines sentinel event policy 21. Monitor and fill facility supplies/submit request for supplies to Facility Manager Qualifications Minimum Requirements Education and Experience This position requires a high school diploma, Bachelors preferred, and a minimum 2 years' experience in the Human Service Field. Must have 1-year minimum of supervision experience This position Requires a valid Driver's License and a 5-year clean driving record Additional Requirements  Working Knowledge of substance abuse and Healthcare Systems  Knowledge and experience with basic Microsoft software packages.  Familiarity with SP's EMR  Able to physically lift up to 15 pounds  Current CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to complete within the first 30 days of employment.  Clearance of TB test (Inpatient locations).  Must complete required BHT training and CPI training and be willing to recertify yearly Physical Requirements  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to  communicate with peers/general public, clients and/or vendors  Tolerant to various noise levels: noise level in the work environment varies - may be very quiet to moderate  Job performance will require the ability to move throughout the building as well as sit  or remain stationary for extended periods of time  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to talk or hear, sit,  stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch  Understands and maintains professional boundaries.  Demonstrates an understanding of rules/limits of patient confidentiality and maintains appropriate levels of client confidentiality/privacy.  Demonstrates an understanding of identifying abuse/neglect in client population.  Demonstrates behavior that promotes positive customer relations with clients, staff, and visitors.  Contributes to continuous quality improvement - can identify performance improvement processes and verbalize role in the process.  Demonstrates proper procedures in responding to emergency and safety drills.  Demonstrates the ability to recognize and respond to aggressive behavior and employ crisis intervention techniques.  Demonstrates ability to perform CPR and first aid.  Demonstrates ability to observe, supervise, evaluate, and document client behaviors in groups and planned activities.  Demonstrates knowledge of mental health issues.  Demonstrates the ability to recognize symptoms and distress of clients.  Demonstrates the ability to communicate relevant information pertinent to client care.  Demonstrates consideration of and respect for values and cultural beliefs.
