GENERAL OVERVIEW

Directs and monitors the preparation and distribution of food and nutrition services and assists in overall department operations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in steps necessary relative to hiring, evaluating, coaching, promoting and disciplining employees by following established HR policies. (15%) Directs daily work flow of department to maintain productivity and to ensure that time schedules are met. (30%) Maintains food safety and sanitation standards according to departmental and regulatory agency requirements. (20%) Monitors the quality and attractiveness of food served to patients and/or cafeteria and special functions to assure that it meets departmental standards. Responds to and resolves customer/patient issues. (15%) Reconciles money, computes transactions, replenishes cash, and banks daily receipts. (10%) Assists in cafeteria menu and special event planning and execution. (10%) Perform other duties as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 4 years in a food service role Within 60 days of hire, must obtain one of the following: Food Protection Manager

• ServSafe National Restaurant Association
• OR•Certified Food Protection Manager•County Health Department•OR•Food Safety Manager•National Registry of Food Safety Professionals Preferred Associate's Degree in related field Experience in a healthcare setting Management experience
