Job Description

Description Dining Service Director We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dining Service Director to oversee all aspects of dining operations within our assisted living community. This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead a team, ensure high-quality service, and promote a positive dining experience for our residents. The ideal candidate will be organized, compassionate, and knowledgeable about food service regulations and best practices in senior living environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Order food and supplies to ensure timely availability of ingredients and dining essentials
  • Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences
  • Manage and supervise a small staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all dining and kitchen areas
  • Attend food council meetings and collaborate with team members to improve dining services
  • Adhere to state regulations and industry standards for assisted living food service operations
  • Meet with residents and their families to discuss dietary needs, preferences, and special requests
  • Prepare and manage work schedules to ensure adequate staffing coverage
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and service to ensure a positive dining experience
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in food service management, preferably in senior living or healthcare settings
  • Knowledge of state and local regulations related to food safety and assisted living standards
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for seniors
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment
