Hourly Leadership Position Position Summary The Shift Captain is responsible for leading the team during assigned shifts, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining company standards, and creating an outstanding guest experience. Shift Captains set the tone for urgency, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism while serving as the primary leader on duty. This role is not simply about completing tasks—it is about leading people, solving problems, and ensuring the success of the entire shift. Core Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development Lead by example in attitude, effort, and execution. Coach team members in real-time. Hold team members accountable to standards and expectations. Assist with training and development of Rookies, Support Specialists, and Team Members. Ensure new team members feel supported and receive proper training. Address performance concerns professionally and promptly. Promote a positive, team-first culture. Shift Operations Manage shift execution from start to finish. Ensure all stations are properly staffed and operating efficiently. Monitor ticket times and service speed. Maintain food quality and consistency. Assist where needed to keep operations moving. Anticipate problems before they impact guests. Guest Experience Resolve guest concerns and complaints professionally. Ensure every guest receives exceptional service. Monitor dining room, arena, and facility presentation. Create memorable experiences for guests and families. Cleanliness & Food Safety Enforce all health and sanitation standards. Conduct regular facility walkthroughs. Ensure cleaning checklists are completed. Verify equipment, utensils, and prep areas meet standards. Ensure food is stored, prepared, and served safely. Accountability & Communication Communicate important information to leadership. Document incidents, guest concerns, and operational issues. Ensure policies and procedures are followed. Maintain confidentiality regarding leadership discussions and team member matters. Leadership Expectations A Shift Captain must consistently demonstrate: Integrity Accountability Emotional Maturity Professional Communication Problem Solving Initiative Reliability Sense of Urgency Shift Captains are expected to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Guest satisfaction Ticket times Food quality and accuracy Cleanliness standards Team engagement and morale Training effectiveness Shift readiness Labor efficiency Authority & Responsibilities Shift Captains may: Assign daily tasks. Direct team member workflow. Coach team members. Recommend disciplinary action. Escalate major concerns to Associate Directors or Executive Team.
Shift Captains may not:
Terminate employees. Modify pay rates. Make major policy changes. Share confidential leadership information. Requirements Demonstrates leadership potential and professionalism. Strong communication skills. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Strong understanding of Allstar Pizza & More operations.
