Job Description
Position Summary The Frozen Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Frozen Department by ensuring product availability, maintaining merchandising standards, driving sales, and delivering excellent customer service. This position assists with inventory management, ordering, stocking, pricing accuracy, and department presentation while helping to lead and develop department associates. The Frozen Supervisor promotes a clean, safe, and efficient work environment and supports overall store goals. Key Responsibilities Department Operations Assist with overseeing daily Frozen Department activities. Ensure shelves, end caps, and promotional displays are fully stocked and properly merchandised. Monitor product quality, rotation, and code dating to maximize freshness and reduce shrink. Maintain accurate pricing, signage, and shelf tag integrity. Support inventory control processes, including ordering, receiving, and stock management. Ensure compliance with company merchandising programs and operational standards. Customer Service Provide prompt, friendly, and helpful service to customers. Assist customers with product selection, special requests, and product location. Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate. Promote a positive shopping experience that drives customer loyalty. Leadership & Team Development Assist in training, coaching, and developing department associates. Support scheduling and daily workload distribution as directed by department management. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Lead by example through strong work ethic and customer-focused behaviors. Food Safety & Compliance Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. Maintain proper freezer temperatures and monitor refrigeration equipment. Ensure safe handling and storage of frozen products. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Financial Performance Support sales growth through effective merchandising and in-stock conditions. Assist in controlling shrink, damage, and out-of-stock conditions. Monitor inventory levels to maximize profitability and minimize waste. Help achieve department sales and labor goals. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous grocery, frozen, retail, or food industry experience preferred. Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Basic math, inventory, and merchandising knowledge. Ability to operate department equipment safely. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift throughout the workday. Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in cold freezer and refrigerated environments for extended periods. Ability to push, pull, and maneuver stock carts, pallets, and merchandise.
