Job Description

We are hiring for a Public Health Shift Lead on behalf of our client, a leader in travel health and wellness services. Partnering with public health agencies and government stakeholders, they support programs that strengthen disease surveillance and traveler health initiatives. This role serves as the frontline operational leader during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth day-to-day execution of station activities and supporting the project in achieving operational goals.

6-month contract starting August 6 th (possibility for extensions)
Schedule:
Sunday - Thursday; 6:00A-2:30P, 2:30P-11:00P Tuesday - Saturday; 6:00A-2:30P, 2:30P-11:00P Responsibilities Oversee daily station operations during assigned shifts to ensure efficient workflow and passenger throughput. Provide direct oversight, day-to-day leadership, and guidance to Public Health Specialists, Data Entry Specialists, Nurses, and Physicians. Coordinate staffing assignments and operational coverage to meet business needs and minimize disruptions. Ensure all station activities, documentation, specimen collection, and data entry processes are conducted in accordance with established protocols, CDC guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and company policies. Support passengers in resolving questions or service issues, and monitor passenger flow to recommend process improvements. Conduct routine quality checks, monitor data accuracy, and assist with tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as passenger enrollment and turnaround times. Monitor inventory levels throughout the shift, report shortages to the Station Manager, and maintain organized supply storage. Serve as the primary operational contact and escalation point during the shift, providing detailed handoff communications to ensure continuity of operations. Promote and enforce strict adherence to infection prevention, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and hygiene standards to maintain a safe working environment. Qualifications and Key Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred. Minimum of 2 years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience. Direct experience working in healthcare, public health, clinical operations, laboratory services, customer service, hospitality, or a related environment. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with excellent verbal and written communication. Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, clinical, and non-clinical teams while fostering a collaborative work environment. Proficiency with data entry systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications. High capacity to maintain absolute confidentiality regarding passenger information and protected health information (PHI). Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
